I am really surprised they can do anything in a 2 hour window. Not the usual impression from most announcements

Watchtower Jul 22 - Jesus directed the GB on how to deal with Covid
by Listener in14 jesus provides wise direction in times of crisis.
the benefits of that direction were evident when the covid-19 pandemic broke out.
while many in the world were uncertain about what course to take, jesus made sure that we received clear guidance to keep us safe.

Pimo's walking out
by Foolednomore inis it possible that jw's would get so worn out by watchtower 's bullshit that they would stand up gather their stuff and walk out of a meeting or a convention.
i can see a small number doing it..

There was a posting from an elder who attended a "school" where a higher up said the governing body throws ideas at the wall and waits to see if it sticks. He didnt walk out, but did close his notebook and quit listening.

Governing Body Update 3 video on resuming meetings in person
by psyco inregarding the governing body update 3 video on resuming meetings in person, i am wondering:.
what is the purpose of wearing masks and to sit keeping distances if you shake hands and hug each other before and after the meetings?.

It is too early to spot trends but (WT trademark word) first meetings showed 30 to 40 on zoom, memorial 20 odd, last midweek the chairman commented on sparce in person audience and zoom showed 50 or more.
I have yet to attend in person but probably will for appearances sake. There are legitimate health concerns to stay home.

Science News article: ‘Case closed’: 99.9% of scientists agree climate emergency caused by humans
by Disillusioned JW ina news article has the headline of " ‘case closed’: 99.9% of scientists agree climate emergency caused by humans"; see https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/oct/19/case-closed-999-of-scientists-agree-climate-emergency-caused-by-humans .
the article says in part the following.. 'the scientific consensus that humans are altering the climate has passed 99.9%, according to research that strengthens the case for global action at the cop26 summit in glasgow.. the degree of scientific certainty about the impact of greenhouse gases is now similar to the level of agreement on evolution and plate tectonics, the authors say, based on a survey of nearly 90,000 climate-related studies.
this means there is practically no doubt among experts that burning fossil fuels, such as oil, gas, coal, peat and trees, is heating the planet and causing more extreme weather.. a previous survey in 2013 showed 97% of studies published between 1991 and 2012 supported the idea that human activities are altering earth’s climate.. this has been updated and expanded by the study by cornell university that shows the tiny minority of sceptical voices has diminished to almost nothing as evidence mounts of the link between fossil-fuel burning and climate disruption.. the latest survey of peer-reviewed literature published from 2012 to november 2020 was conducted in two stages.

Iconsider myself moderate. Luddite leanings and a working class background. I decry the idea that everyone can live above average ( oxymoron) and the idea that minimum income works-minimum skills is a better metric. Bernie should have promoted " free" job training.
My skepticism on climate hinges on the natural cycles from ice ages etc. The local weather station is at an airport which moved and once was at city park.

"I also have a bicycle that I bought as a teenager, but I rarely ride it because I quickly get tired when pedaling it up inclines - even very mild inclines. I use public transportation combined with walking up 20 minutes per trip to get around."
Wait until you get older. Most of the things we have that make life possible and enjoyable are a result of the industrial revolution. The belief that you will be ever young and have magical stuff is in the realm of the JWs belief.
Do not call us rabid right either. Politics is a cube with points all over the place. Are you a rabid leftist?

Aluminum pots are poison. (I was raised on that and still eschew them)
During the tribulation we will travel in car caravans and will never run out of gas. Israelite clothes never wore!
Flood.
That organ thing; the literal heart controlled our thinking.

Just the lady ones. The men went to mars.
Actually the writers still pick up " "science" following things like global warming, plastic straws, daily covid fads. Not necessarily following though. ( buried ink)

Slim; actually used car salesman. (Buy here, pay here)
We used to have potlucks. Actually good times. One couple did formal dances in lieu of proms. Many moons ago a brother with land hosted target shooting.
The local good ol boys used machetes for swords and steel tipped spears in a drama. Made me nervous seeing elders act like 10 years old with them.
